International Mail Order Pharmacy Services through Universal Rx's Expatriate Prescription Services (EPS)
Universal Rx offers Expatriate Prescription Services, or EPS, for Group Plan clients with employees who are U.S. citizens currently working or living overseas. EPS is an international prescription benefit mail order program that can be added on to the basic Prescription Drug card Program to serve the needs of expatriate plan members.
Expatriates often have a difficult time obtaining their needed medications. This can result in:
- High drug costs
- Extraordinarily high shipping fees
- Delays with Customs offices
- Non-compliance risking poor health
- Increased medical plan costs and hospitalizations
The EPS Mission
Expatriate Prescription Services is designed to provide expatriates convenient access to high quality, low cost prescription drugs using an efficient and reliable delivery system to over 140 countries worldwide.
Group Plan/TPA Client Enhancement
EPS can be an optional part of the benefits package offered by our Group Plan or TPA Clients, delivering outstanding service, convenience and member satisfaction. The EPS program is another opportunity to provide invaluable benefits and services to Grouip Plan members and TPA clientele.
EPS Order Quantities
Through EPS, plan members outside of the United States can order up to 180 days worth of their medication (90 days for controlled substances) to be shipped to them at their international addresses. Members taking medications that cannot be obtained in their resident countries will be able to continue taking their medications with no delays due to the EPS program.
EPS Distribution Partner, Product Quality and Safety Assurance
EPS ordered medications are primarily shipped from a facility in the United Kingdom. This facility was chosen because of their commitment to worldwide delivery of medications and medical supplies for over thirty years. It is important to note that the United Kingdom has the most stringent food and drug laws, along with the United States, of anywhere in the world.
Furthermore, as an additional safety measure, EPS ordered prescription medications come in the original manufacturers’ packaging to assure plan members receive their proper medications.

The EPS Program has formed strong relationships with its pharmacy vendors. Although the costs of the prescription drugs available through the EPS program are deeply discounted, the quality remains the same. Medications will be packaged securely for safe travel.
Management
Upon enrollment, members are assigned to an EPS representative who will oversee and manage the enrollment process, as well as making themselves available to assist members with any questions they may have.
